Our story
About us
We are Lakhwinder and Balwant Singh, two brothers from Punjab, in northern India. Before this place was ours, we spent years working for an entrepreneur who had opened several Shri Ganesh restaurants across Italy: in Turin, Milan, Venice and other cities. We moved from one location to the next with him, learning the craft, until a friend helped us find our way to Parma.
In 1995 we took over the restaurant ourselves, keeping the same recipes we had learned over those years and the same name, Shri Ganesh, which carries real religious meaning for us. Ever since, we've been the ones cooking, every day, with the recipes that have always defined us.
Chicken makhani and chicken tikka masala remain the dishes that represent us best: the same ones that, here in Parma and across the other Italian locations along our journey, earned our customers' trust over the years. Today we're one of the most established places in the city, and we like to think that whoever sits at our table finds some of the most authentic, carefully made Indian flavour they can taste in Italy.
